Posted on January 4th, 2010 in Pregnancy by Newsroom

Tenderness of breast during pregnancy is common. It happenes in the first trimester. It happens because of higher levels of the progesterone hormone. Right before your period it’s normal to have tender breasts and even may have even more breast tenderness because of Progesterone levels during pregnancy. Breasts are at their most tender either before or right around the time you miss your first period. The good news is that the tenderness probably will have eased by the end of your first trimester.

Many women experience breast tenderness and pain. It is also called as mastalgia. Breast pain doesn’t mean breast cancer. It can be due to hormonal fluctuations or stress etc. Women who is expecting child, should go for medical opinion.
